Information about Brasilia

Known internationally for the modernity of its architecture and urban design in the shape of an airplane, Brasilia has been declared by the UNESCO as "Patrimony of Humanity". It has an area of 5.782 Km2 and a population of 2 million. The medium altitude is 1100 meters and the climate of tropical savanna, tempered and rainy. The average temperature is 20.5Cº . Local time is three hours less than Greenwich.

The federal capital is currently furnished with 35 hotels, of which 8 are rated five stars, 6 four stars, 14 three stars, 4 two-stars and the rest unclassified.

Some of the centers of interest for the participants are: Metropolitan Cathedral of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Area of the Public Powers (Congress, Itamarati, Ministries, etc.), Capela Dom Bosco, Complexo Cultural da Caixa Economica Federal, National Theater, National Park of Brasilia, Park of the City, Lake-Dam of Paranoá, Memorial of President JK and Temple of Boa Vontade.

Due to its central location within the country, Brasilia is an ideal bridge for traveling to the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo or Salvador Bahia; for all these places there are direct flights. There are also flights with stops and combination of surface transportation to the rain forest regions of Mato Grosso and Roraima.
